What we Believe
We are a Trinitarian Christian church
This means that we believe in the Trinity described in the Bible: We believe in the Nicene Creed and the Apostles Creed. God our Heavenly Parent, God the Son (Jesus Christ), and God the Holy Spirit, as the One in Three persons, all pre-existent. We are an Apostolic-prophetic church, with Pentecostal/Charismatic roots.
We believe in the emphasis of the role of the Holy Spirit in our personal and corporate lives and the Five-fold gifts and Offices in Eph. 4:11-13.
We are a Five-Fold Church
We are an LGBTQ affirming Apostolic-Prophetic Church, with Charismatic roots, which means that we believe in the Fivefold ministry and that the gifts of the Holy Spirit are evident in the life of the people and manifest inside the walls of the church and in our community.
We believe that ALL people are welcome to the House of the Lord without prejudice and that ALL who call on the name of the Lord will be saved.
As an apostolic-prophetic church, we believe in the restoration of the Fivefold offices of Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Pastor, and Teacher, for the Church today that are found in Eph. 4:11-13.
At DGFC, we believe that the global church must embrace all the spiritual gifts given to the body of Christ given the the Church, to carry out God's mandate for the Kingdom on the earth found in Romans 12 and 1 cor chaps 12-14.
As an apostolic-prophetic ministry, we believe in a demonstration of God’s power to heal, deliver, equip, and restore the Church of Jesus Christ, to be transformed in His image, so that all will be able to carry out God’s Kingdom plan. (1 Cor 2:4).
We believe that the offices of Apostle and Prophet are foundational to the Church, with Jesus Christ as the chief cornerstone. (Eph 2:20) This is the divine order in which God has ordained the church to operate and to carry out its mission.
Born Again
We believe that all have sinned and need to be born again, or converted, or regenerated, in the name of Jesus Christ, through the work of the Holy Spirit.
We believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross, rose again on the third day, and ascended to heaven where he sits at the right hand of God.
Baptism of Holy Spirit
We affirm the baptism of the Holy Spirit, including speaking in tongues, and the diverse gifts provided by God for strengthening believers and building up the body of Christ.
We believe that we are measured by the Fruit of the Holy Spirit, not by the gifts. (Galatians 5:22).
Water Baptism
We believe in water baptism as an outward symbol of an individual's commitment to Christ following their salvation. Baptism is conducted in the name of our Heavenly Parent, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit.
Additionally, we believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit and speaking in tongues, as outlined in Acts 1:8 and Acts chapter 2.
For infants and young children who are not yet able to make a personal decision to follow Christ, we conduct a "Dedication of Blessing" ceremony. Parents commit to guide and teach their children about the Lord, nurturing and raising them in God's love.
Eschatology - The Return of Christ
We believe that Jesus Christ will return to the earth at an appointed time, known only by God. There will be a trumpet call for all those who believe. (1 Thess 4:16-17)
We believe in the Rapture and that Jesus Christ will return again and that the saints of the Most High God will dwell with Him. Reference scriptures on the return and end times are Matthew 24:27; 24:37–39; 26:64 and Mark 14:62 and Revelation 12,13 & 14.
